Fall Pinned

Posted by on in DIY Projects

I’ve been a bad bad blogger! Thank you for sticking with me through the craziness of wedding season. I hope to be back to my normal blogging habits soon!

For now, I wanted to share some of the amazing fall finds and inspirations that I’ve been “pinning” lately. Being a New Englander, the Fall is by far my favorite time of year. There is nothing like pumpkin painting, apple cider donuts and the smell of spice to warm your heart!

Tissue Paper Poms

Posted by on in DIY Projects

It's Event Wednesday! A big DIY (do-it-yourself) trend right now for parties is the fun tissue paper pom flower. We used them for Michelle's 30th Birthday Party back in November. They are a fun and unique décor element. I love how you can mix colors and patterns to coordinate with your theme. You can purchase pre-made poms at most party stores, but her is a tutorial on how you can make them yourself!

Tutorial from Martha Stewart

Step 1: Stack eight 20-by-30-inch sheets of tissue. Make 1 ½ inch-wide accordion folds, creasing eash fold

Step 2: Fold an 18-inch piece of floral wire in half, and slip over center of folded tissue: twist. With scissors, trim ends of tissue into rounded or pointy shapes.

Step 3: Separate layers, pulling away from center one at a time.

Step 4: Bend wire into a loop to fit around napking, and twist end around loop to secure.
