Real Wedding: Drew & Brittany

Posted by on in Real Weddings

For this Real Wedding feature I thought it might be a little different to showcase the DIY elements created by the couple. Drew & Brittany's wedding was amazing, incredible, just awesome…..I could go on and on. Really you should just check out the fabulous pictures captured by the super talented Mon Petit Studio (seriously I could recommend these two until the cows come home). Their full blog post can be found here

Drew and Brittany were married on September 15th at the Rocks Estate in Bethlehem, NH. To get all cheesy, it was absolutely magical. These two are madly in love and it was so special to be a part of their big day. Here are a few of my favorite DIY elements from their wedding ( I must say that Brittany’s Mom had a huge part in making this wedding come together, yay Laura!).

All photos are courtesy of Mon Petit Studio.

NH Wedding 2

The flowers were purchased from a local farmer and the bouquets were created by the Bride's Mom and Bridesmaids.

NH Wedding 3

Instead of traditional paper programs, they distressed an old door and painted their program details on it. After the wedding their plan was to install the door in the new house they bought together as a keepsake!

NH Wedding 5

Lots and lots of ribbons! We accented chairs that were used for both the ceremony and reception with different colored ribbons (that were already bundled for us). Brittany's Dad and crew hung the ribbon chandeliers while the bridesmaids took care of the paper poms.

NH Wedding 4

Ribbon wands with bells were given to guests at the ceremony to wave after the big kiss!

NH Wedding 6

"Oh Happy Day" was the theme for the day and was carried through different wedding elements! I loved the centerpieces, a wooden plank with mixed matched Anthropologie vases and mason jars filled with wild flowers (again purchased from a local farmer).

NH Wedding 7Brittany handed these escort cards/favors over to me to complete. They were already filled with balsamic vinaigrette and stamped with their wedding "logo". I tied all of the tags and added a sprig of fresh rosemary, so cute!

NH Wedding 8

The tables numbers were discs made out of tree stumps and a transparent number sticker was added.

NH Wedding 9

Another great pic of the ribbon chairs at the head table!

NH Wedding 10

You can see the doily lanterns in the background hanging over where the band played.

B and D

And finally I had to share my favorite photo from the day, absolutely stunning!

A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day spectacular, including my fabulous ATFE interns Kara & Courtney! Please check out Mon Petit's blog (listed at the top of the post) for more amazingness from this wedding!

Real Wedding: Ben & Christine

Posted by on in Real Weddings

I first met Christine three weeks before her wedding. I received a phone call from her asking if I had her date still available because she was starting to get stressed out about all of her wedding details and who would take care of everything. Luckily, it was one of the few summer dates that I still had available! We met quite a few times over the weeks leading up to Ben & Christine’s big day, I got to know them very quickly!

Ben & Christine were married on July 28, 2012 on the Newburyport waterfront with a reception to follow at The Custom House Maritime Museum. We had some weather scares, but overall it was an absolutely beautiful day. They had so many fun elements to their day like a steel drum band and an ice cream sundae bar. My favorite part of the day was the poem that Ben’s daughter read to Christine during the Ceremony, it was the most sincere and lovely poem I have ever heard about “Step-Moms”.

Ben & Christine are an amazingly loving couple. It was an absolute honor to be a part of their wedding day. Here are some of my favorite moments from their wedding (Photos Courtesy of Doug Bradshaw Photography).

Real Wedding: Brian & Nancy

Posted by on in Real Weddings

Rain. Your worst nightmare when planning a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony with a not so pretty back-up plan. Although it was a very wet rehearsal in the pouring rain, we were fortunate for Brian & Nancy’s Ceremony. The sky waited to open up until after they said “I Do”. Technically this was a vow renewal ceremony as Brian & Nancy were married in a small Ceremony earlier this year while stationed in Arizona. Since their family and friends could not be present they decided to have a celebration back in New Hampshire. I was so honored to be a part of their special day as Nancy is a family friend. They are such a wonderful and loving couple with the cutest little girl. Without further ado here is the story of Brian & Nancy’s wedding captured by photographer Ron Sparks!

And a little ATFE action behind the scenes, this what Kara and I were doing while the Ceremony was going on.......hiding by a tree to keep out of the pictures!

Real Wedding: Bryan & Emily

Posted by on in Real Weddings

I first met Emily and her Mom at the WERZ Bridal Show in January. We hit it off right away and after doing a loop around the expo she came back to my booth and booked me for her wedding on the spot. Over the past eight months we've met for coffee, lunch and always spent the first hour of our meetings chatting away. I could not wait for Bryan & Emily's special day to finally arrive. Emily kept me updated on all of her planning via Pinterest and e-mail. I was so excited to see all of her DIY projects come together.

Bryan & Emily were married on family property in Barnstead, NH. Staying true to Bryan's Farm roots and Emily's love for Equestrian, this couple planned a rustic country wedding. With lots of homemade touches (including benches made by the groom) and a great sense of style, this was a beautiful affair. But beyond their lovely planning, Bryan & Emily's deep love for each other truly showed throughout the day. Without further ado here is the story of Bryan & Emily's Wedding Day captured perfectly by the oh so talented Robert Ortiz Photography (he is an absolute gem to work with!).

Unique wedding elements: Bride arrived in a vintage wagon pulled by oxen, guest escort cards were placed in vintage shutters adorned with baby pictures of the Bride & Groom, beer and water was located in a canoe filled with ice, instead of a sand ceremony they did a tree planting ceremony, for a guest book they had each guest place their thumb print on a framed painting of a tree, the Groom made the benches for the Ceremony, stand for the tree ceremony and the centerpieces. I'm sure I am missing a ton of fun decor items, this wedding was full of rustic and DIY loveliness!
